4 new Yemeni nature reserves have been added to UNESCO’s Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.
(UNESCO) has inscribed 26 new sites from Yemen on its World Heritage Tentative List. These include prominent natural sites and protected areas, specifically:
Hoof in Al-Mahra
- Jabal Irf in Lahj
- “Sharma Gathmoon” in Hadhramaut
- Jabal Bara’ in Al-Hudaydah
The National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development (NFESD) congratulates the Yemeni people and land on this significant achievement, which enhances the global standing of these natural protected areas and underscores their unique natural richness.
The NFESD also calls on everyone to join efforts to preserve and protect these natural and archaeological sites, and to strive for the inscription of more of them on the World Heritage List
